Reskilling Opportunity – Work Towards a Retrofit Coordinator Qualification

Surrey County Council has a reskilling opportunity to allow a few Surrey residents to work toward becoming a Retrofit Coordinator. Fully-funded places are being offered to complete:

  • Domestic Energy Assessor training (this allows you to carry out EPC assessments)
  • Level 3 & 4 City & Guilds Retrofit Assessor training

Once qualifying as a Retrofit Assessor, 2 years of on-the-job experience are needed before achieving Level 5 Retrofit Coordinator. This makes retraining difficult for most people, so Surrey County Council is removing some of the obstacles by funding the Level 3 & 4 training and providing support across a set period of time, to allow residents to build a portion of their portfolio. Assessments to build a portfolio can be done alongside an existing job. Travel expenses will also be covered, but this is a reskilling opportunity and not a paid role. More information is below. If you are interested please send a CV and cover letter to ben.mccallan@surreycc.gov.uk. Candidates must be available for online training with Elmhurst Energy between 25th – 27th September.
